The Top 10 Commuter Towns

As families expand, so does the desire for more space, green fields and a less noisy neighbourhood. However, for some there is still a need to be within easy commuting distance of a large town or simply a desire to have the variety of culture, theatres and restaurants that larger towns have to offer.

With this in mind our 2014 Family Hotspots report has again identified the highest scoring postcodes within easy reach (less than 15 miles by road) of major city centres.  Gathered around a large village pond this year's top slot goes to the picturesque village of Swanland just seven miles from Kingston Upon Hull owing it's success to it's exceptional Key Stage 4 results and very low crime.  Whilst second place goes to the market town of Cheadle situated between Manchester and Birmingham with a population of just over 12,000 people it's success lies in it's fantastic Key Stage 4 scores and lower than average property prices.
