OneFamily to launch new community funding programme

Posted in: Foundation

OneFamily is inviting its customers to enter a new community funding programme, giving local good causes the chance to win £5,000.

The OneFamily Foundation Community Grants, which launch this week, offer local groups, charities and projects the opportunity to receive £5,000 to benefit their members and communities.

The awards are the newest funding initiative to launch through the OneFamily Foundation, OneFamily has an aspiration to give £5 million over five years to good causes benefiting its customers, their loved ones and their local communities. Hove Park School, Aspire, and The She Sanctuary are just some of the local winners that have already benefited from the Foundation.

The grants have been launched following the unprecedented success of OneFamily’s Community Awards which have run for the last three years, where customers can nominate good causes and the winners were chosen by a public vote. The grants will be run on a regular basis and winners will be chosen at random from all projects meeting the qualifying criteria.

Guy French, corporate and customer strategy director at OneFamily, said:

“We’re a customer-owned financial services business and we do more than offering our customers financial products and services. Through our Foundation we’re able to give our customers the opportunity to make a difference to the individuals and good causes that matter most to them.

“Since launching the Foundation in 2015 we’ve touched the lives of more than 250,000 people across the UK and we’re hoping Community Grants will continue to make an even greater impact.

“Through Community Grants we offer a simple way for our customers to give something back to their local communities. I’d urge any customers locally to get involved and nominate a community project or group they would like to receive support.”

The Community Grants are open for entry now and applications close on 17 June 2018.
