What happens when I turn 18?

When you turn 18, your Child Trust Fund or Junior ISA will “mature”.

  • If you have a Junior ISA, this will automatically become an Adult ISA.
  • If you have a Child Trust Fund, this will simply become a “matured Child Trust Fund”.

Crucially, when you turn 18 the money that’s been put away for you becomes available.

You'll be able to tell us what you want to do with it by logging into your online account or registering if you haven’t yet done so. When your account matures, new options will show to withdraw or move your money – you’ll be able to decide how much money you want to put into each option.

You’ll also automatically become the Registered Contact which means we’ll no longer be able to speak to your parents about your account and will speak to you directly instead.
