Investing in stocks and shares

Our Child Trust Fund invests in stocks and shares so it has the potential for greater growth than cash accounts over the long term. Stocks and shares are usually considered a good option if investing over the longer term as it helps even out fluctuations in the stock market and provides good growth potential. However, this comes with a degree of risk. The value of stocks and shares can go down as well as up. Whilst this is normal for stocks and shares it does mean that your child could get back less than is paid in. Please remember, only your child can access the money, and only once they turn 18.

Three options to choose from

When you transfer a CTF held with another provider to us, you can choose from three funds. Each aims to grow your child’s account by investing in stocks and shares but approach it in different ways.

Please read and retain a copy of the relevant documents below to get a good understanding about how each fund is invested. Then choose which one suits you best.
