Personal Grants explained

As a OneFamily customer you can apply for a Personal Grant of up to £500 at any time for yourself or someone you care about.

Perhaps you need help managing a disability, or, if you’re someone’s carer, you’d like a well-earned respite break. Personal Grants are there to help with the practical issues of modern life.

In 2015 alone we awarded over £200,000 to our customers and we’re looking forward to helping even more of you. See some of our winners' stories »

We review

We’ll review your application and get in contact with you if we need more information. Providing your request meets the criteria as explained in the Terms and Conditions, we can process your application and enter you into the next monthly draw. If we cannot process your application we will be in touch to explain why.

You’ll be able to log back into the Foundation at any time to check the status of your application on your Dashboard.

Monthly draw

At the start of every month up to 50 winners are selected at random via a computerised draw to receive a Personal Grant. If your application has been successful, our Customer Engagement Team will get in touch to confirm your win!

Don’t worry if you’re not successful, your application will automatically be re-entered into the following month’s draws, giving you a total of three chances of winning.

What could a Personal Grant be used for?

Short breaks

We receive a number of applications for short breaks and holidays or for those in need of respite. Whether you're living with a debilitating condition, or recovering from a severe illness, a grant can really make a difference to your wellbeing.

Modifications

We receive a number of applications for home improvements or modifications that benefit the individuals, families or those living with a disability. From installing a wet room suitable for wheelchair access to replacing a broken fridge freezer, a Personal Grant can be used for a number of modifications to your home.

Learning

Whether it's improving your skillset to help you get back into work or learning a trade to enhance your job prospects, we offer support to our customers who want to make a difference to their lives and their families.

Mobility

Sometimes we take for granted being able to walk to the shops, or play outside with our family, but for so many of our customers this is a luxury. We've awarded a number of Personal Grants to our customers who wish to purchase mobility aids to regain their independence again.

Technology

Having specialist equipment or technology can provide a lifeline to those that need it most, but they often comes at a high cost. We have provided a range of educational and specialist software and devices that allow families to access these items at home.
