Team Domenica

We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to create a brighter future.

Our charity partner, Team Domenica, is creating brighter futures for people with learning disabilities.

Introducing Team Domenica

Team Domenica support young people with learning disabilities to gain paid employment and reach their full potential.

The Brighton-based charity creates brighter futures for its candidates through improving their confidence, independence, wellbeing and employability skills.

Since 2016, 80% of candidates have now progressed from Team Domenica’s Supported Internship Programme into paid work – compared to an employment rate of just 4.8% among adults with learning disabilities in England (NHS Digital, 2023).

How we've been supporting Team Domenica lately

Since our partnership began in 2021, we’ve supported Team Domenica in a number of ways – from providing funding to running half marathons.

2024 saw us continue to grow our partnership to provide meaningful support where it was needed most:

  • We welcomed two candidates into our Brighton office, offering them vital work experience as part of Team Domenica’s Supported Employment Programme.
  • Our annual donation supported training across the charity’s three cafes, where candidates learn a variety of skills to succeed in their future careers.
  • Members of our marketing team spent the day distributing flyers to businesses in Brighton to promote the charity’s inclusive swimming challenge, and one of our colleagues took part in the event to raise vital funds to support their work.

“It has been an absolute pleasure to continue Team Domenica’s partnership with OneFamily, working together to achieve our shared vision of a bright future for young people with learning disabilities,” said Alice, Fundraising Manager at Team Domenica.

“Whether it has been swimming in our Great Lengths event to raise vital funds for our training programmes, undertaking colleague volunteering, or introducing us to a new employer partner, OneFamily colleagues have helped to support our young people on their journey to employment in so many ways.

“And last year was particularly special, with OneFamily offering two Team Domenica candidates work experience placements in their Brighton office.

“These enabled our young people to gain the skills and confidence they need to thrive in future employment, whilst also demonstrating OneFamily’s commitment to creating an inclusive workplace.

“Working together to create these accessible work placements brilliantly encapsulates the shared value of our partnership, and has been one of the highlights so far (especially for candidate Nathan, who loved his placement so much that he didn’t want to leave)! A huge thank you.”

We formed our charity partnerships to make a meaningful contribution to causes aligned with our vision and values. As well as providing funding we get involved in other ways too – whether that’s giving our time, providing office space or fundraising.
