Temporary Hardship Grant

For those who are experiencing financial hardship as a result of coronavirus

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been huge, leaving many families concerned not only with their health, but also financially. In such unprecedented and uncertain times, we’ve made a new grant available to help our customers who need extra support to keep afloat.

OneFamily customers affected by coronavirus can apply for a Temporary Hardship Grant of up to £250 to help with essential costs such as rent, bills, food or home-schooling equipment.

Applications must meet the eligibility criteria. If this doesn’t apply, you may be eligible to apply for a Personal Grant or Young Person’s Education Grant instead. More details can be found here.

Grant recipients will be selected via a weekly draw.

For more information please see our terms and conditions and frequently asked questions.

To be eligible to apply, applicants or recipients must:

  • Be a OneFamily customer with a live policy
  • Be applying for a recipient based in the UK (i.e yourself, a relative or close family friend)
  • Be in financial hardship due to the coronavirus crisis, e.g. due to loss of earnings or increased expenses.
  • Be able to provide proof of hardship/evidence of what the grant will be used for if selected to receive the grant.
OneFamily customers holding pension products only are not eligible for this customer benefit due to the potential adverse tax consequence for both the customer and the product. Customers who have a pension product will still be eligible if they hold other OneFamily products.
