Kate Camara from Buckinghamshire has dedicated the past nine years of her life to caring for her mother who suffered dementia. Sadly, Kate’s mother passed away last year. Now, aged 61, Kate has decided to finally focus on pursuing the career she’s always dreamed of – teaching English as a foreign language.

Kate said: “I’ve always had a lot of contact with people from other countries through work and family, and being able to teach English is something I’ve thought about doing all my life. Unfortunately while my mother was ill I wasn’t able to do a great deal for myself as most of my time was spent caring for her needs. I know that she would be very proud of me.”

“The money from the Foundation will allow me to do something I’ve always wanted to do.”

Kate continued: “The money from OneFamily will allow me to do something I’ve always wanted to do. I’ve had foreign students board with me before and always enjoyed helping them to develop their understanding of the English language. This opportunity is one I wouldn’t have had without the Personal Grant from the Foundation.”
