John Maynard

John Maynard has been volunteering for Northampton Voluntary Drivers, run by the local charity Voluntary Impact Northamptonshire, for over a year. John donates his mornings to his local community, driving those who couldn’t otherwise make it, to their hospital and doctors’ appointments.

Faced with emergency repairs to his car that he could not afford, John feared he would be forced to stop his voluntary work. Now, thanks to a Personal Grant, John has been able to make these repairs to his car so he can continue to provide this vital service.

“I can’t stress how much it means to me to have been given this grant. I get a lot of pleasure out of helping people and as I’m retired now, volunteering is a massive part of my life. It may seem like a small amount of money, but to me and my local community, it will make a really big difference.”
