Manchester charity, the CEDE Foundation win £5,000

A gathering of adults and children in yellow shirts cheer and sing

Manchester based charity, the CEDE Foundation, is celebrating winning one of the OneFamily Foundation £5,000 Community Awards! The project is designed to empower disabled children and young people through the power of therapeutic singing and musical clinic sessions.

The CEDE Foundation aspires to eliminate discrimination against children and young people who have a range of disabilities by improving the children’s motor skills and language development through music and singing. The funding will contribute to the cost of specialist teachers who can deliver music clinics to 20 special educational needs (SEN) schools across Manchester which will benefit more than 1,000 youngsters.

Bernard Nwaiwu is a trustee of the charity and also a OneFamily customer. Bernard was overwhelmed with the amount of support the charity received during the voting process and is looking forward to seeing the project come together.

These sessions will make such a difference to so many children across Greater Manchester and we can’t thank OneFamily enough for helping us make it happen.

The charity helps disabled young people develop a number of essential skills, such as memory and stress management language development by using music therapy in a fun and interesting way.

We hope to have the pleasure of experiencing one of these fantastic musical sessions soon.
