OneFamily’s Brexit statement

OneFamily is a UK-based company that only accepts business from UK residents. We do have a small number of customers who live overseas, some of which are residents in the EU.

retirees abroad

It is our current view that EU Withdrawal will not impact customers who live within the UK or the Crown Dependencies.

If you live in the EU it is possible there may be some impact to the servicing of your contracts once the EU Withdrawal process is complete. As is currently the case, the taxation of any benefits is dependent on the tax rules in the country where you live.

What are we doing?

We are carefully monitoring how things are developing and will provide more information when we are able to do so.

In the meantime, any product held by a UK or overseas national living in or outside the UK will remain unaltered and will operate in the same way as before.

Be vigilant to the risk of Fraud

In times of uncertainty people may become vulnerable to being persuaded to change their investment decisions and transfer money to apparently more lucrative schemes. Fraudsters tend to employ various messages using fear and pressure to encourage you to change or cash in your product. Please take care and take your time to consider any changes you want to make, particularly if the suggestion to act has come from an unsolicited third party. This is particularly relevant if you hold a pension contract with us.

If in doubt, you should seek advice or contact us before proceeding. The FCA has a dedicated consumer website with information about how to identify and avoid an investment or a pension scam and what to do if you believe you may be a victim. You can access it at

Fraudsters may also try to steal your personal information. The Information Commissioner’s Office website has information about consumers’ rights and provides advice on key topics including identity theft. Access it at

How will your investment be impacted by EU Withdrawal?

It is not clear what impact the eventual Brexit deal will have on financial markets and how this will ultimately affect your contract, but there are a few things to remember:

  • It’s perfectly normal to see the value of your investments go up and down over the lifespan of a product.
  • Products invested in the stock market are designed to offer returns in the medium to long-term so short term movements are to be expected.
  • If you’re unsure how your money is invested with us, please get in touch.
  • If your investment objectives have changed you might want to seek financial advice.

For now...

It is important to make any changes to your finances in a calm and considered way. If you need to act now it would be a good idea to seek independent financial advice. If you do not have an adviser, you can find one through this link:
