£25k up for grabs for community groups

Posted in: Foundation Date added:

OneFamily is inviting its customers to enter its Foundation’s Community Awards, giving local community groups and projects the chance to win up to £25,000.

The Community Awards, which open next month on 21 June, provide local organisations with the opportunity to win a £5,000, £10,000 or £25,000 grant to support a special project or initiative that will benefit the group and its members.

There are four different award categories: health, disability and social care; lifelong learning; active living and community groups. Each category will have eight winners with four projects receiving up to £5,000, three projects winning up to £10,000 and one project up to £25,000.

The awards are part of the OneFamily Foundation and were created to give OneFamily customers the opportunity to support their local community and the projects in their area that matter to them and their families.

Karl Elliott, customer strategy director at OneFamily, said:

“We are a customer-owned, financial services business and for us it’s not just about offering our customers financial products and services. The OneFamily Foundation is a way of us giving something back to our customers, their families and the communities where they live. The Community Awards are a big part of the Foundation’s work, and each year we give hundreds of thousands of pounds to the good causes close to our customers’ hearts.

“In 2016, through the awards we touched the lives of more than 100,000 people, and this year we want to go even bigger and better – giving even more customers and communities the chance to benefit.

“Projects must be nominated to be in with a chance of winning, so I would encourage OneFamily customers to get involved and nominate the good causes that mean the most to them.

The Community Awards open for entries at midday on Wednesday 21 June and close at midday on Wednesday 19 July.
