England quartet, James Roby, Stefan Ratchford, Chris Hill and Lee Mossop, along with Exiles’ star Lance Hohaia, will be taking time out from training to head down to Thatto Heath ARLFC in St Helens to work alongside volunteers and improve the club’s facilities.

The event is being held in the lead up to Volunteers’ Week, 1-6 June 2013, to encourage the 95 clubs which have registered for the engage with your club initiative to hold an action weekend and boost their club’s facilities.

Engage with your club is run in partnership by former Super League sponsor, Engage Mutual, and Rugby League Cares, to help amateur rugby league clubs encourage local volunteering to improve their facilities.

Speaking of the event James Ogden, community activation manager at Engage Mutual, said:

“Volunteers’ Week is the perfect time for clubs to start thinking about holding an engage with your club action event in order to make a positive impact to rugby league at a grassroots level.”

Organised by NCVO in partnership with Volunteer Development Scotland,Volunteer Now (Northern Ireland) and Wales Council for Voluntary Action, Volunteers’ Week celebrates the contribution made by millions of volunteers across the UK.
