Engage Mutual ends its involvement in Engage with your Club

Engage Mutual is to end its involvement with the ‘Engage with your Club’ initiative, started during its seven-year tenure as Super League title sponsor. It will continue with its community involvement, but this will have a clear customer focus in line with the mutual’s strategy to support and enhance the lives of its customers.

Since its inception three years ago, the Engage with your Club initiative has been delivered in partnership with Rugby League Cares and the RFL Facilities Trust. Although the mutual is withdrawing, the initiative will continue under the stewardship of the Rugby Football League.

Established with the aim of helping amateur rugby league clubs across the UK improve their facilities, the Engage with your Club initiative has gone from strength-to-strength since its introduction.

2013 was the most successful year to-date, with 56 amateur rugby league clubs taking part, supported by an estimated 1,700 volunteers who between them gave more than 9,000-hours of their free time.

Speaking of the initiative Tina Jessop, head of communications at Engage Mutual, said, “Since 2005, we have supported rugby league at the top level, through our Super League sponsorship, and at the amateur level with Engage with your Club.

“We’re thrilled with the response that Engage with your Club has had from fans and rugby league supporters and very much hope that the initiative will continue making an impact and achieving great results for rugby league communities.”
