Engage Mutual, one of the UK’s largest mutual friendly societies, has appointed Andrew Gosling to its Board as a non executive director.

A chartered accountant with over 30 years’ experience, Andrew was finance director at Yorkshire Building Society, the UK’s second largest building society, until his retirement in 2010.   During his time there, he also sat on both the Risk Committee and Asset and Liability Committee.

Previously a partner with Ernst & Young, he led the firm’s financial services practice in the North of England.  Andrew also spent two years at the Building Societies Commission, now part of the FSA, supervising building societies during the 1990s downturn.

Andrew commented:

“I am delighted to be joining such a thriving, forward thinking mutual, and am looking forward to playing my part in shaping what looks like being an exciting future.”

Engage Mutual chairman, David Robinson, said,

“We extend a warm welcome to Andrew, who brings a range of skills and experience that will be critical in helping move a thriving, resilient organisation to the next level.”

Andrew lives in Harrogate.
