Our Neurodiversity Network

By Gemma Bellamy 29th May 2025

We launched our Neurodiversity Network in 2024, in conjunction with our partnership with the Group for Autism, Insurance, Investment and Neurodiversity (GAIN).

Creating an inclusive environment

Our Neurodiversity Network provides a supportive group for Neurodivergent colleagues, as well as those that support, care for or have family members who are Neurodivergent.

It also wants to educate and raise awareness of Neurodiversity to create an inclusive environment for all colleagues.

The Network aims to:

  • act as a collective voice for Neurodivergent employees
  • support and empower Neurodivergent colleagues to achieve their potential
  • identify training and support opportunities for Neurotypical (NT) and Neurodivergent (ND) staff alike
  • share common ND experiences
  • celebrate and recognise diversity within OneFamily.

How we’ve been raising awareness of Neurodiversity lately

We were joined by members of GAIN, who shared their stories and talked about the free resources and events offered to all OneFamily colleagues as part of our membership with GAIN.

The first Neurodiversity Network event was held at the beginning of National Inclusion Week 2024. This initial meeting discussed what they hoped to achieve from the group, as well as making introductions.

Colleagues were invited to a Neurodiversity 101 workshop in April 2025, hosted by GAIN. This engaging and informative session educated participants on Neurodiversity, and how this specifically relates to the workplace – including common strengths of Neurodivergent people and reasonable adjustments that could be made.

It included discussion and visualisation exercises and was aimed at all levels of the business to help increase understanding of different ways of thinking and processing.

At OneFamily we're invested in creating an inclusive culture, where everyone feels like they belong.
