OneFamily and Pride

We are a proud partner of Brighton & Hove Pride 2021

How we support Pride

At OneFamily, our values set us apart from other financial services organisations. We are passionate about inclusion and diversity within the business and proud to continue to be an official partner of Brighton & Hove Pride in 2021.

Although the parade and festival in the park has been postponed, it’s essential that Pride is able to continue supporting the charities and good causes that rely on it. With our support we want to help Brighton & Hove Pride ensure that people in our community will continue to receive the support they need.

As an inclusive employer we will be delivering a programme of Pride celebrations and awareness activity for our employees.

What is the Pride movement?

It’s hard to miss the colourful, celebrative Pride parade that occurs in cities around the world every summer. Every year, for the past 50 years, Pride events have and continue to occur worldwide to remember the Stonewall riots in New York City, 1969, which was a pivotal moment in modern LGBTQ+ social movements.

LGBTQ+ people protested and rioted following a police raid on the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in Lower Manhattan. This ignited the first Pride marches in 1970 which has continued to this day as a means of celebration across the world.

These events are held to celebrate and promote self-acceptance, dignity, equality, and increased visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people as a social group.

Brighton & Hove Pride

We are proud to be part of a community where one of the best and largest Pride events is held in the world.

Brighton and Hove Pride’s aims to promote tolerance, diversity, inclusion and education within our communities. They work to eliminate all forms of discrimination against LGBTQ+ communities by celebrating and supporting LGBTQ+ lives.

Pride at The Ironworks

Although large scale Brighton & Hove Pride events are not happening in 2021, there is a cultural LGBTQ+ festival throughout August and September at The Ironworks.
