Operating Systems and Browsers

Our website is best viewed using the latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Internet Explorer. The site has been optimised to respond to the browser and screen size you are using, tailoring the experience to your choice of device.

You can download and install these browsers for free by clicking one of the links below. If you have any technical problems downloading a browser, we recommend you contact your Internet Service Provider, or the company who provide the browser. OneFamily cannot be held responsible for issues that arise from downloading external software.

Changing your desktop browser settings

If you are having any problems using our website, it may help to change some of the browser settings relating to how the site is displayed.

Settings are usually accessed via an icon in the top right hand corner of your browser, if you're on a desktop or laptop computer, and are usually illustrated with a cog or three horizontal lines (a 'burger' menu).

To apply font and colour changes

 Internet Explorer

Click on the cog in the top right hand corner of your browser window.

From the drop-down menu, select 'Internet Options'.

On the 'General' tab, select 'Colors' or 'Fonts' or 'Accessibility' from the Appearance options to customise how the page is displayed.

 Firefox

Click the menu icon in the top right hand corner of your browser window.

From the drop-down menu, select 'Options'.

On the 'Content' tab, you can select your default font under 'Fonts & Colors' or access the advanced options to customise further.

 Chrome

Click the menu icon in the top right hand corner of your browser window.

From the drop-down menu, select 'Settings'.

At the bottom of the page, click on 'Show advanced settings...'

You can customise your fonts under the 'Web content' section.

 Safari

Click the menu icon in the top right hand corner of your browser window.

From the drop-down menu, select 'Preferences'.

On the 'Appearance' tab you can customise your fonts. 

To enlarge text

 Internet Explorer

Click the 'Page' button in your toolbar.

From the drop-down menu, select 'Text Size' and choose from the available options.

 Firefox

Click the menu icon in the top right hand corner of your browser window.

From the drop-down menu, select 'Options'.

On the 'Content' tab, you can select the default font size.

 Chrome

Click the menu icon in the top right hand corner of your browser window.

From the drop-down menu, select 'Settings'.

At the bottom of the page, click on 'Show advanced settings...'

You can customise your fonts under the 'Web content' section.

 Safari

Click the menu icon in the top right hand corner of your browser window.

From the drop-down menu, select 'Preferences'.

On the 'Appearance' tab you can customise your font sizes.

To change text, background and link colours

 Internet Explorer

Click on the cog in the top right hand corner of your browser window.

From the drop-down menu, select 'Internet Options'.

On the 'General' tab, select 'Colors' to customise how text, links and backgrounds appear.

 Firefox

Click the menu icon in the top right hand corner of your browser window.

From the drop-down menu, select 'Options'.

On the 'Content' tab, select 'Colors' to customise how text, links and backgrounds appear.

 Chrome

 In order to change text and background colours on Chrome, you will need to download a browser extension.

To download extensions, click on the menu icon in the top right hand corner of the browser window and select 'Settings'.

On the new page that opens, select 'Extensions' on the left-hand menu.

On the new page, select 'Get more extensions' to search for the one most appropriate to your needs.

 Safari This option is not currently available on Safari.

To change the size of the window

Press the F11 key on your keyboard to toggle between full-screen and standard view.

Downloading PDFs

To view the PDF documents on our website you may need to download Adobe Acrobat. This program is free and can be downloaded by visiting the Adobe website. For information about reading PDF documents with a screen reader, please refer to the Access Adobe website.

JavaScript

Our site uses JavaScript for security reasons and non-critical functionality. We recommend that you enable JavaScript before accessing the site.
