Being diagnosed with a serious health condition can understandably be very distressing. Whilst mainstream services like the NHS focus on treatment, it’s often the emotional and practical issues that get overlooked despite being just as important.

A friendly listening ear or health advice from a professional could give you and your family the support that you need at such a difficult time.

We give our Over 50s and Health Cash Plan customers free access to our Health Support Service, provided by RedArc.

RedArcs' team of highly experienced registered nurses can offer the emotional support and practical advice needed by you and your family at such a difficult time. This is provided by a Personal Nurse Adviser, who will keep in touch with you for as long and as often as you need.

They’ll give you access to a wealth of information and experience of their own and from their network of specialist charities, self-help groups and care providers.

Depending on your medical need they may also be able to arrange one of the following:

  • A programme of therapy, such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, or complementary therapy.
  • A course of counselling tailored to your specific needs.
  • A one off home visit from a specialist nurse.

If you have an Over 50s Life Cover Policy and claim for the serious illness benefit or terminal illness benefit, we’ll automatically refer you to RedArc so that you and your family have that much needed extra support.
